Disease sees increased lettuce shortage
LEFKI - An unknown disease that has inflicted lettuce crops accross large parts of Aetolia has dramtically reduced the supply of lettuce available to consumers. The Agricultural Council states that the disease causes a rot to develop in the plants, and quickly spreads within infected farms, but it is unclear how it is spreading from farm to farm. The Council had an emergency meeting on Wednesday to implement control measures on the affected areas and and place price controls on the remaining supply.
The Agricultural Research Agency has been studying the disease to discover a solution to the problem.
